BAP's They Do Work

Well here I go again talking about Buying a Piece, or BAP's for short. To understand what a BAP is please read one of my earlier blog titled BAP, What The Hell Is BAP, You Ask?

I am writing this blog to let everyone know that, I have been purchasing a fair bit of other poker players action, the last few months. Some have paid off with a couple of hundred bucks here and there, but just recently, I had anywhere from 1% to 5% of about 4 different players at The Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure in the Bahamas (PCA), and I had a pretty good payout.

Xuan Liu posted on her twitter account that she was selling some action to her Main Event and Side Events at The PCA. Since I had already bought a bunch of other BAP's, I decided that Xuan would be a good investment, considering within the last year she has been taking the poker tournament grind by storm, especially with a 3rd place finish at EPT San Remo back in April 2011 for over $500,000.

So I bought 1% of the action that she was selling, and it turned out to be a very good investment as she went on to finish 4th for $600k. Boy don't I wish I bought more then just 1%, but still $6,000 is not to bad at all, better then what I could do in the stock market.

I also was able to buy a piece of my long time poker buddy Greg Hartwick's action, for The World Series of Poker Circuit Events at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas this past week.

After busting in day 1 of his first event he played, a $350 No Limit Hold'em Tournament, he played a $560 Tournament Ring Event, and after 2 days of grinding, he made the final table and went on to win the whole tournament for just over $26k and bringing home about $920 to me from my initial investment of $100. This just shows you that BAP's can actually pay off and pay off good.

Congrats to both Xuan and Greg for their amazing runs at the poker tables and thanks for letting me be a part it, and providing me with an exciting rail at home via the internet. I do wish I could have been there live to root you both on at your final tables.

I have a few more BAP's that I have bought for the Fallsview Poker Classic starting February 8th. Hopefully the run continues and I make some more money on the players that I am backing. Good luck to all.

I Am Now Sponsored

I am very excited to finally be able to announce that I now have a poker sponsorship with Blue Shark Optics Canada / Blue Shark Optics the official poker glasses of The World Series of Poker.

This is my very first sponsorship, and I can't wait to play in my next Poker Tournament wearing my Blue Sharks Patch and glasses proudly. Speaking of my next Tournament, it looks like it will be the 3 Events that Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls will be hosting from February 8th to February 13th, Then off to the Great Blue Heron Casino for their $1k Winter Poker Tournament on February 29th. I may also make a trip to Vegas to play on The World Series Of Poker Circuit Events at Caesars Palace, this is just tentative right now as I am trying to work out my schedule to make this happen. No matter where I will be playing I will have Blue Shark Optics patch on my shirt and glasses on my head.

I would like to thank Blue Shark Optics and Blue Shark Optics Canada for choosing me and I am sure I will be able to help make your product better known throughout Canada and where ever I am playing Poker.
